Abstract:"This article is a third in a series, within 4 years, of reproductive pharmacology research. Survey of literature pertaining to this review was concluded January 1967. Research has centered around the mechanisms involved in modifications in the hormonal environment of the fertilized egg or developing ovum by steroidal and other chemicals. Control of male fertility has attracted less research but some new compounds have been developed. Previous reviews have dealt mainly with developments in the use of steroidal agents, clinical aspects and side effects, and the development of antifertility substances. Significant findings of research studies pertaining to the following headings are quoted: control of spermatogenesis; alkylating chemicals; nypothalmic and pituitary control of ovulatim; pheromones; steroidal and antifertility substances; substances interfering with ovulatory events; egg transport; toxic action on eggs; termination of implantation stages; and implantation. eng"
